The Creation of Angels & Evil Spirits Chapter 2 The Creation of Angels & Evil Spirits Around the subject of angels and evil spirits there is much confusion, debate, and misinformation, but the existence of both is plainly taught in Scripture and furthermore, They are not the spirits of dead men, but they were created before this world and mankind came into existence. The great controversy between good and evil began in heaven and played out amongst the angels. Some stayed loyal to Satan, whilst the majority stayed loyal to God and stayed in heaven. As we continue this journey in this chapter, we will see how both good and evil exist. [♪ music ♪ Angels were made before mankind was created.

Job 38 verse 7 outlines this. When man sinned, angels were sent to guard the tree of life to prevent man from becoming an immortal sinner. Psalms 8 verse 5 says that angels have a superior nature to man, for it says that man was made a little lower than the angels. The Bible talks about their appearance, their number, and how they form a part of the government of God. Daniel states that there are 10, 000 times 10, 000 and 1, 000, 000.

Matthew talks about their clothing is white like snow and that their appearance is like lightning. [♪ music ♪ Angels were sent on missions of mercy. They were sent to Abraham with blessings, to Sodom to rescue Lot, to Elijah to encourage him, to Daniel to give him wisdom, to Peter when he was imprisoned, to Paul when he was shipwrecked, and to Cornelius to receive the gospel. In addition to this, we are assigned a guardian angel, the Bible says. In Job chapter 1 it says that Job had a hedge of protection around him.

In Psalms 34 verse 7 it says, The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and deliver them. And in Matthew 18 verse 10 it says that each little 1 is given an angel to watch over them. Thus we are assured of God's protection from Satan and his evil angels. He is the 1 who has the power to destroy the world. Evil angels used to be holy, and although fallen, they still possess some powers that they use in Satan's rebellion.

They are organized and seek to disrupt society and destroy individuals. They are especially mentioned in the New Testament during Jesus' ministry. We see men possessed by demons. In Mark chapter 5 verse 9 we see the demoniac responding, saying, My name is Legion, for we are many. This suggests that Satan organized his angels into ranks or companies because a legion would have been a company of 3 to 5000 soldiers.

These angels had thrown the men around without restraint, and they are cast from them into a herd of pigs, which they then run off the cliff to drown in the waters below. We also see the Syrophoenician Woman, the boy with the dumb spirit, and various others mentioned in the Gospels. Each time Jesus addressed them as an intelligent being, they obeyed his command. In contrast to these people who were suffering, we see others mentioned such as Simon Magus and Elimus who were under the spirit of divination. Perhaps Satan's greatest achievement is to get people to believe he does not exist, or that even if he does, he does not have much power or evil intentions about him.

[♪ music ♪ Satan is very much a real being, with real evil angels who work for him. But we should always remember that God has more angels, for one-third were cast out but two-thirds stayed. But even if the numbers were not stacked in God's favour, His power alone is greater. May we be encouraged and comforted that angels which excel in strength are sent to watch us and Satan cannot break through the guard that God protects us with. ♪♪ ♪♪ You you
