What you think about God affects how you think of everything else, including every aspect of faith and practice. As one famous writer put it: “A small mistake at the beginning, is a large one at the end.” At the beginning of theology stands our understanding of God and His character. For many, this understanding has been massively impacted by extra-biblical philosophical presuppositions rooted in streams of Greek philosophy. This seminar invites you to a deeper understanding of the God of the Bible, in contrast to the so-called “God of the philosophers,” addressing the big questions about who God is, why it matters, and how our understanding affects the very foundations of Adventist doctrine (e.g., the atonement and the sanctuary doctrine, biblical prophecy, the great controversy, and much more).
