Anchor is a seminary-level course of study on the fundamentals of Seventh-day Adventist theology, taught by Pastor Stephen Bohr and guest theologians.
ANCHOR’S MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of ANCHOR is to settle students into the Truth both intellectually and spiritually so that they cannot be moved and to provide the theological skills to share with others the reason for the hope that is in them.
This class aims to:
- Strengthen the student’s understanding and commitment to the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Undertake an in-depth study of the distinctive beliefs (Present Truth) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Study the impact of our beliefs upon our lifestyle choices
- Discuss controversial theological issues that are presently being discussed within the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Prepare students so that they can share our distinctive beliefs with others
- Prepare students to answer frequently raised objections to Seventh-day Adventist theology
- Learn the correct way to use the Spirit of Prophecy in our study of the Bible
- Provide written resources for personal study
- Provide bibliographies to motivate students to do further personal study
